In the little town of Schleitheim, Switzerland, early Anabaptist leaders gathered to wrestle through their beliefs. What made them different from the Catholic and Protestant churches around them, and why were they willing to suffer and die for these differences? As a vivid illustration of how revolutionary these ideas were, you will end the episode in a field at Michael Sattler’s memorial. There you will hear the brutal story of his trial and martyrdom, which he suffered because he refused to compromise his beliefs in Scripture.
